Meditation is the foundation of Kriya Yoga practices. It is the way for each of us to have the actual experience of the Divine presence within. The benefits of regular meditation are many.
It helps us experience profound inner peace and calmness, increased mental clarity and focus, and inner joy. It relieves stress and helps us cope in this hectic, busy world in addition to increasing spiritual awareness. Whether you are seeking to learn meditation for the first time or looking for a group to meditate with, Ananda has something for you. Ananda Dallas offers meditation classes if you are new to meditation as well as regular group meditations if you already know a meditation technique. All are welcome

This 8-week course is Ananda's most comprehensive study of yoga principles. Each class will include the practice of the Energization Exercises and gentle Ananda Yoga for Higher Awareness. You will also learn new pranayams and techniques for meditation, as well as study many new aspects of yoga philosophy: chakras, history & paths of yoga, Patanjali's eight-fold path, energy, guru-disciple relationship, yamas & niyamas and much more.

Group Meditations
Sunday Morning Meditation & Purification Ceremony
9:00 – 10:00 am - All are welcome (No charge)
The 9:00 AM service includes a brief chant, silent meditation time and an opportunity to offer/burn/release an intention to God using a burning bowl on the altar.
Free Every Tuesday
7:30-8:30 pm (optional longer meditation until 9PM)
Each evening will begin with 10 - 15 min of simple, energizing movements that help meditations to be more dynamic.
After the opening prayer, there will be 5-10 min of chanting, followed by silent meditation. If requested, the leader is happy to lead the group into meditation.
Kriya Meditation

Special Kriyaban Meditations are offered to strengthen your practice of Kriya Yoga Meditation. Hope you'll reserve the time to join with other Kriyabans on this Saturday morning. We will begin with Energization, promptly at 9:00 am, and after brief chanting be allowed to go into our own meditation routine of 1 1/2 hours.
Attunement to the Masters Discipleship

Fridays, June 14 & 21 (2 week series)

This 2-week course is for those who feel the calling to this particular ray of Self-realization offered through Ananda. We explore the Guru-Disciple relationship: what is a guru and what does it mean to become a disciple; do we need a guru; attunement; the guru as a Divine Friend. A Discipleship Ceremony is offered upon completion for those who feel inspired.The Aum Technique of meditation is then offered to those who have already studied Beginning Meditation & would like to continue preparing for Kriya initiation
Before Kriya Initiation, aspirants must learn to meditate through Ananda's beginning meditation classes and attend an 8-week Raja Yoga course, this Guru/Disciple class plus a Kriya Preparation course..

Experiencing Pranayama

Even count breathing is familiar to many of us, but there are dozens of different, more powerful pranayama. We invite you to experience advanced pranayama as they never before have been taught in Dallas. Encouraged by Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda, the pranayama breathing techniques help to provide energy control. The meditation experience is deeply enhanced by Ananda's Pranayama.
The flow is a Sadhana including Energization Exercises, Ananda Yoga, guided Pranayama (energy control), and then your own meditation. Three pranayama are taught in each class. In addition to pranayama, the related bandhas, retentions and mudras are explained and enjoyed together
