Sunday Satsang at Ananda is inspired by the meditation tradition of the East and the ancient teachings of mystical Christianity, with inspirational readings from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. Service includes music, group chanting and meditation.
In 1999, Miriam Rodgers moved from California to the Ananda spiritual community just outside Assisi, Italy. For the next fourteen years she was blessed to serve as Swami Kriyananda’s nurse in Italy, India, and the U.S. With over thirty years of prior experience as a critical care nurse, Miriam was well prepared to help navigate Kriyananda through the countless medical challenges he faced during those years.
Miriam has been a member of Ananda Worldwide for over twenty years. After Kriyananda’s passing she settled back in the U.S. where she has been teaching meditation and Ananda yoga. She has written a book entitled, Swamiji, about her experiences of living and traveling with Swami Kriyananda from 1999 until his passing in 2013. Miriam practices Kriya Yoga meditation as taught by her guru, Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi.
